Antonia-Maria Alexandrescu
SopranoAntonia-Maria Alexandrescu is a young Romanian soprano, born 2006, in Bucharest and raised in Târgoviște. From an early age, she displayed a profound love for music, singing, dance, and acting. As a child, she composed her own songs and created and edited music videos, often drawing inspiration from Disney productions.
At just 13 years old, she made her debut in a leading role at the Ion Dacian National Operetta and Musical Theatre in Bucharest, performing in the original musical Parcul de distracții (“The Amusement Park”). This experience marked her first encounter with professional stage productions and live orchestral performance.
She began her classical voice training at the Bălașa Doamna Art High School in Târgoviște under the mentorship of Mariana Luca. Antonia has received numerous national and international awards, including First Prize at the George Georgescu International Competition (2024), First Prize at the W.A. Mozart National Competition (2023), and Third Prize at the Romanian National Singing Olympiad (2024).
Her artistic growth has been further enriched by attending prestigious masterclasses such as the International Summer Academy of the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (2023) with Professor Claudia Visca, the ICon Arts Masterclass in Transylvania (2024) with soprano Elena Moșuc, and the Canto Vocal Programs masterclass (2024) with vocal coach and assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera New York, Liora Maurer, and interpretation coach Sharon Mohar from Les Maîtres Sonneurs (France).
She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Voice Performance at the National University of Music Bucharest.
